Hanamiya Ryokan (花見屋)

Hanimaya features spectacular outdoor hot spring baths surrounded by an authentic Japanese garden.

Hirasawaya Ryokan (平澤屋)

Shirokiya Onsen is for the serious onseneer – the provide 24 hours service for their onsen. A private onsen for the family can be requested. There is a small bar that you can enjoy your drink with friends or family too.

Asakaya Restaurant (安積屋)

Asakaya, a local Soba noodle (buckwheat noodle) restaurant, is well-known for serving a high quality of handmade Soba noodle made from selected Soba grains.

This is how to eat Soba: ​use chopsticks to pinch some Soba noodles, then dip them into Soba soup and enjoy the taste of yummy noodles in your mouth. Some may put Wasabi (Japanese horseradish) and spring onion to spice up the taste.

Miyamori Restaurant(宮森食堂)

This family restaurant has been running for more than 70 years! Now the second generation takes pride in handling the family’s secret recipe. The restaurant is well known for ramen noodle and also famous for their signature Tonkatsu sauce for cutlet. Their ramen with a tasty soup is recommended. A rare Sake is served here also.

Konishi Shokudo Restaurant( 小西食堂)

This popular local restaurant has been running for over 80 years. Their specialty is Sutamina-Ramen served with deep-fried chicken and a full-flavored ramen soup.

You will enjoy having a delicious bowl of Ramen, together with appreciating the old vintage dolls that have been used to decorate the restaurant.

Bar Kagetsu (スナック花月)

There is a secret bar hiding in an ancient town where peacefulness wonderfully meets joyfulness. This bar treats you as if you were at home. You will enjoy sitting or lying down on a sofa, drinking and talking to your friends and family. The kind bartender, called an uncle, is ready to serve you all kind of drinks. It’s a great little locals bar.

Hinodeya Shop (日乃出屋)

This is a famous snack shop in this area. The must have menu is Tempura Manju serving with hot green tea or hot coffee.

Horaidoseika Shop(宝来堂)

Fun for families, this is a souvenir shop where you can make traditional Japanese food by yourself for your loved ones (a reservation is required).

You can buy Sasadango a Japanese dango variety made from rice cakes filled with red bean paste and wrapped in bamboo leaves.

Doraya Shop(どらや)

Dorayaki is a red-bean pancake which consists of two small pancake-like patties made from castella wrapped around a filling of sweet anko (red bean) paste. This shop is the most famous for this sweet treat because of its secret recipe.
